SENIOR PROJECTS - Monday, April 22,
4-7pm Everyone is invited and encouraged to come!

A costume designer, a computer programmer, a psychologist, and a comedian all walk into the MPR... To find out how that joke ends, you'll have to come join us on Monday, April 22nd, from 4-7pm in the MPR, for an evening of Senior Projects. This is a capstone event where our graduating students will present their research on a variety of topics, including the fate of ballet after the Bolshevik revolution, the rhetoric of Christian hospitality, the development of naturopathic medicine, modern sci-fi appropriations of ancient mythology, the practice of etching and print-making, and the connection between photography and memory. Please come to support our seniors and learn from their passions and explorations.
We had so much fun during our Quest of Gratitude & Respect yesterday and today! Tomorrow and Thursday we embark on our Quest of Kindness to deliver popsicles to our neighbors at Teach. We love being able to give back to the community that has given so much to us. So far we have raised $4,193.53! Keep up the great work everyone!
The Preschool-UMS yearbook is on sale now! The cost per yearbook is $38. Please click this link to place your order today. All orders must be placed by May 6th in order to get free shipping!
Note: For HS yearbooks, please consult the high school.
Book Buy Backs have begun. Please stop by The Den to find out which books we will buy back for store credit. Store credit may be used to purchase anything from The Den or you may donate your credit to another family.

As buy backs are happening, savvy shoppers be sure to start checking our Used Book Shelves on a regular basis if you would like to save money on your curriculum for next year. We also have a selection of non-curriculum books on our used book shelves.

Wow!  Families who have participated in the Scrip program have saved a combined total over $2,500.00 in tuition so far this year. Encourage your family members to order Scrip from you as well. It all adds up! Remember, for physical cards or payments by checks, your orders need to be in on Thursday by 3:00 p.m. Feel free to ask Brenda in the store if you have questions.

SLOCA Battle of the Books coming in May!
The Battle of The Books is a reading program for 4th, 5th, and 6th graders who want to READ good books, test their memories, and have FUN. The "battle" is a competition held after school one afternoon in May (date to be determined). Your student will be assigned to a team consisting of 4th, 5th, and 6th graders, and will "compete" together as a team, answering questions about the books read, and running relays. The battle questions often begin, "In what book does…?" Your student earns points by answering with the correct book TITLE and AUTHOR.

How Can We Join In the Fun?
#1 Sign up at the Librarian’s desk
#2 Read the Battle Books
#3 Come ready for battle-- your team may be the 2019 Battle of the Books Champions.

Prizes awarded for all competitors!

Note: Parent volunteers are needed to read questions and time the responses.

Congratulations to our High School Boys Volleyball team for winning SLOCA High School’s first-ever league title! There were about 100 people packed into Grace Church to watch the title game, where we beat Coastal Christian 3-1, before walking down to Woodstock’s to celebrate. It was a great time. This week they play a friendly non-league match at Morro Bay on Wednesday at 4:30, and then CIF playoffs will start on April 30th. Go Grizzlies!!

Click here to see the highlights of the title game on KSBY!

And sign-ups are now available for Ultimate Frisbee; the students will be grouped by general grade level, but anybody from 1st grade through High School is invited to participate!
