JUNE 4, 2019  |  academic year 2018-19  |  A YEAR OF WONDER
Medieval Feast 2015

1. Please join us in celebrating our Class of 2019 on Thursday, June 13, 6:30 pm, Grace Church Gym. Everyone is invited! RSVP here: SLOCA High School Graduation 2019

2. We still have a little room in our "Novel Adventure" series of summer camps, including Fairy Tale Camp, Novel Adventures, and Wilderness Adventure Camp. They take place in late July, and we can’t wait to see you there! There are also Sports Camps going on throughout the summer -- including rock-climbing, K-4 multi-sport, competitive volleyball, and competitive basketball. Click here to sign up!

3. Lost and Found is headed to Fred & Betty's! Please make sure and check for anything you are missing before it is too late.

4. If you ordered a yearbook (for Preschool-UMS), and you haven't picked it up, please come by the front office to collect it. If you ordered a yearbook after the deadline, it may take a few days extra for your yearbook to arrive. Do you still need to order a yearbook? Click this link and follow the steps to set up an account. Enter your name and email address, enter any password of your choosing, select your role, and then click Get Started. Depending upon your choice of shipping, it may or may not arrive before the last day of school. Questions? Email Debbie Lee at dlee@sloclassical.org.

5. This is our last Bear Necessities for the 2018/19 school year! We will start our Bear Necessities - Summer Edition next week.

Wednesday, June 12th and Thursday, June 13th are the last days of school and are half days. Please be sure to check your family files before the last day of school for your summer packet!  Make sure to ask the NOL for your curriculum lists for next year. Don't forget your yearbook if you haven't picked yours up yet.

6. Flag Day is coming up on June 14th. This day is among those holidays which, although they have great cultural and historical significance for us, we simply don't have the time to dedicate to learning about them during the school day. We do, however, believe that learning about these holidays is a valuable endeavor and want to assist our families in the process of understanding. Please log in to our Parent Portal to view this Holiday Resource.  As a reminder, please view this resource in a different browser than Chrome. (Chrome does not display the resources properly.)

We are asking for all hands on deck for our big History Day celebration happening on Friday! Please be sure to sign up to bring items or help with setup. If you are attending the event please also stay to clean up. Many hands make light work!

Volunteer hours are due by midnight on June 13th. Please log your hours as soon as you can!

We are so close to the end of this school year, blog readers! Join us for our last Monday Mix-Ins with a few resources you can check out this week. This month's character trait is also now up on the blog so make sure to read all about it and keep your eyes peeled for the literature selections coming out in a couple of days. Some posts you may have missed last week: a special highlight on our wonderful team at Fred & Betty's and a chance to win FREE tuition. Come, stop by, and join us!
Next year’s first trimester literature and history books are arriving. If you want to get a jump start on buying next year’s curriculum, come by the store and Brenda will help you gather your books. If you bought a tuition raffle ticket and received your extra 10% off discount to the store, this is a great opportunity to stretch that dollar. That coupon expires on June 13th.

We are still accepting buybacks until the last day of school for store credit only. Keep in mind, we are only buying back books that will be used for next year -- like Singapore Home Instructor Guides, First Language Lessons or Preschool-Kindergarten literature books. Also, if you have done the Renaissance time period before, I will buy back the literature books if you no longer have a child that will need them. Stop by the store and I will be happy to give you a list of books that I am looking for.

Friday, June 14th is the last due date for books and games checked out from the SLOCA Library.

The SLOCA Library will be closed from June 15th to August 26th for inventory.

Keep reading this summer, and looking forward to seeing you in the fall,
Ms. Pamela

Thanks to everyone who came out to the Athlete Celebration and/or Bingo Night! You all had a great attitude and we had a lot of fun.
